PUBLIC NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS CONCERNING PROPOSED BURN
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, to owners of lands adjacent to land owned and operated by the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation known as the Cookson Wildlife Management Area, that between January 1 and September 30, 2026, the operators of such Area located in parts of Sections 5, 6, 7, 8, 17, 18, 19, 20, 29, 30, and 31 in T14N R23E and Sections 31 and 32 in T15N, R24E in Adair County, Oklahoma, and Sections 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 in T14N, R23E in Cherokee County, Oklahoma; intends to burn as a prescribed burning an estimated 11,062 acres of above mentioned property. This notice is pursuant to Title 2, section 16-28.2 requiring written notice be given to all adjacent property owners within 60 days of a prescribed burning. A complete plan of the proposed prescribed burning can be found at the Forestry Division Office located at 22082 South J.F. Davis Lane, Tahlequah, Ok, or the Cookson Fire Department in Cookson, Ok.
