PROCLAMATION AND NOTICE OF ELECTION
Under and by virtue of Section 26, Article X of the Oklahoma Constitution and Title 70, Article XV, Oklahoma Statutes 2011, and other laws supplementary and amendatory thereto and a Resolutions of the Board of Education of Independent School District Number 16 of Cherokee County, Oklahoma, adopted on the 15th day of May, 2026, an election is hereby called to be held in said School District on the 25th day of August, 2026, for the purpose of submitting to the registered, qualified electors thereof the following propositions:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
Shall Independent School District Number 16 of Cherokee County, Oklahoma, incur an indebtedness by issuing its bonds in the sum of Four Million Seven Hundred Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($4,715,000) to be issued in one or more series to provide funds for the purpose of constructing, renovating, remodeling, repairing, furnishing, equipping, and/or acquiring classroom additions, bathroom renovations, office improvements, pick up drive lane expansion; acquiring and installing a covered canopy; constructing, equipping, repairing and remodeling school building; acquiring school furniture, fixtures and equipment and acquiring and improving school sites, and levy and collect an annual tax, in addition to all other taxes, upon all the taxable property in such District sufficient to pay the interest on such bonds as it falls due and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof when due, said bonds to bear interest not to exceed the rate of ten (10%) percentum per annum, payable semi-annually and to become due serially within ten (10) years from their date?
PROPOSITION NO. 2
Shall Independent School District Number 16 of Cherokee County, Oklahoma, incur an indebtedness by issuing its bonds in the sum of Three Hundred Thousand Dollars ($300,000) to be issued in one or more series to provide funds for the purpose of purchasing transportation equipment, and levy and collect an annual tax, in addition to all other taxes, upon all the taxable property in such District sufficient to pay the interest on such bonds as it falls due and also to constitute a sinking fund for the payment of the principal thereof when due, said bonds to bear interest not to exceed the rate of ten (10%) percentum per annum, payable semi-annually and to become due serially within five (5) years from their date?
The ballots used at said election shall set out the propositions as above set forth and shall also contain, with respect to each proposition, the following words:

Against the above Proposition
The polls shall be opened at seven o'clock A.M. and remain open continuously until and be closed at seven o'clock P.M.
The number and location of the polling places and the names of the persons who shall conduct said election shall be designated by the County Election Board(s). Such officers shall also act as counters.
The specific projects for which at least eighty-five percent (85%) of the proceeds of the aforesaid Bonds shall be expended and the dollar amounts for each project shall be as follows:
PROPOSITION NO. 1
to construct, renovate, remodel, repair, furnish, equip, and/or acquire improvements districtwide as needed to include, but not be limited to: classroom additions, bathroom renovations, office improvements, pick up drive lane expansion, and acquire and install a covered canopy$4,715,000.00
PROPOSITION NO. 2
to acquire vehicle(s) for pupil transportation from the proceeds of bonds maturing within five (5) years from their date$300,000.00
